Hainan Airlines is an airline headquartered in Haikou, China. It is the largest privately owned air transport company and the fourth largest airlines in terms of fleet size in the People’s Republic of China. It operates scheduled domestic and international services on 500 routes from Hainan and nine locations on the mainland, as well as charter services. As of January 2018, the fleet includes 25 A330, 150 B737NG, 3 B767, 26 B787.



Minimum Qualifications

– 4,000+ hours total flight time
– 500+ hours PIC on type
– Under 55 years (inclusive) / Transition Program : Under 54 years
– ICAO level 4
– Medical Class 1
– Have flown within 6 months
– No history of incidents or accidents
– No criminal record
– Currently holds a valid ATPL license and type rating



Terms & Conditions



– Operational Base (Option 1,2 and 3)

    • B737 : Beijing, Xi’an, Shenzhen, Haikou, Guangzhou
    • B787 : Beijing
    • A330 : Beijing, Shenzhen

– Living Base (Option 2, 3 and 4) : Any HNA international flight destinations

– Contract Terms: 4 years, renewable

1) Ticketing Allowance:
– For those who choose operation and resident base outside of China
– USD500 : within HNA flight network
-USD1,000 : without HNA flight network (Africa & Australia) If it is ASIA zone, USD500

2) Education Benefit
– For those who choose base in China upon school registration form/letter
– Paid by HNA : Tuition fee include standard tuition fee and lunch fee

3) Specific Los-Of-Licence Insurance policy will be released in the near future

4) Base : Pilots choose any HNA flight destination as their residential base. During their duty period scheduling has the solo decision for the flight arrangement (international flight + domestic flights)
– Residential Contract : Option 1
– Commuting Contract : Option 2,3 and 4
– Commuting pilots need to decide 2 bases : operational base in China and residential base

Initial Screening


Screening is divided into 3 Phases with 1 or 2 visits by the candidate of not more than 14 days total (2x 7 day max):

o PHASE-1 (HR)

– Airline and Contract Presentation

– CBT (Computer Based Tests – psychometric & psychological including ATPL Exam)

– Medical Check

– Living-in-China Tour (site visits of International School, Accommodations, Inter-national Hospital)

– Theoretical Training

– Company Simulator Check

– CAAC Simulator Check

– Professional Background Investigation

– Final Result Assessment
